The transformation from the gangster stereo type to that of a more conservative, yet sporty look is clearly evident. The subtle changes to the front of the vehicle and the rounded edges give it a more distinctive look as opposed to the older C300. Compared to the likes of the C63 the C300 SRT8 just leagues ahead and it and a lot more fun, powerful exciting and elegant. Starting it up a listening to the purr of that V8 just sends shivers down you spine. So much can be said about the C300 SRT8. It is a cruiser as well as an elegant sports car. The best way to describe the C300 SRT8 is; “ A wolf in sheep clothing” cunning and devious. One could be forgiven for thinking that this car is a sluggish tug boat at first glance, but actually seeing and experiencing the vehicle, will change your mindset. A head turner of note. Whether you use the flappy paddle shifters or drive in the automatic setting, the power is always on tap and absolutely fun either way. The one thing which was really disturbing, was the height of the vehicle from the ground. you have to be really careful not to scratch the under carriage. Should Chrylser incorporate a damper setting. The same as in the Jeed CRD? yes, so of course when you engage sport mode, the car will bunker down. When all is said and done, the C300 SRT8  has no competitors in its class. This may be a bold statement to some. Will there be a competitor any-time soon? Highly unlikely. Final verdict The best car around town right now. We strongly suggest that you make a trip to your local Chrysler dealer to see this Elegant monster. Rating: 9 out of 10 Engine: 6.4L V8 HEMI Power: 351Kw  Torque: 637 Nm Price: R630 000 Review by Jonathan Doolabh SUV from hell.     Built for speed Don’t be fooled by the comfort of the interior, soft leather trim seating, carbon fibre features, leather covered steering wheel, ample leg room and ease of access to the simple instrument panel.  This is really an SUV from hell, more Sport than Utility. From the time the the ignition is switched on, your will will be mesmerised by the raw howl of the 6.4L V8 HEMI engine. With that said, at the risk of contradicting myself, the manner in which the Jeep SRT8 accelerates as opposed the the likes of the C300 SRT8, is alot less exciting. When driving the Jeep in the AUTO setting, there is a highly noticeable lag in acceleration but once the vehicle gets up to speed, you tend to forget that you are driving an SUV. The one thing we feat was that it needed a sixth gear even though the 5 speed gearbox was able to handle this much torque. The interior dashboard should have been fitted with a larger screen, similar to the one fitted to th3 C300 SRT8 to give it a distinctive, recognizable look. it looks the same as  the JEEP CRD. But, that’s not the defining feature of the vehicle; its the brutal power, awesome tone and aggressive look that keep you entertained for hours.  The paddle shifters make the driving experience a lot more enjoyable. Watch out ladies there’s a new competitor in town, keeping your husband at home is going to be; Mission impossible. (speaking from experience? Yes) Never a dull moment till the petrol tank runs dry, and when its dry its dry. There’s word of the Alpine edition and we cannot wait to compare apples with apples. are competitors going to trying to catch up, most definitely. The question is, “ Is there a competitor?” Final verdict on the Jeep SRT8... Bipolar but fun either way.
